Restaurant Floor Manager

About the Role:
At Mr. Fish (www.mrfish.uk.com), we are looking for an experienced Restaurant Floor Manager who will take ownership of the front-of-house operations, ensuring that each guest has a positive and memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate will oversee day-to-day service, lead the team, and maintain high standards of hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management & Training: Lead, train, and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver consistent and exceptional service.
- Customer Service: Ensure all guests are warmly welcomed and looked after, resolving any issues that arise professionally and efficiently.
- Service Flow Management: Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house, managing the timing of service during busy periods.
- Staff Scheduling & Efficiency: Create rotas, manage shift changes, and ensure adequate staffing levels during peak times.
- Cash Handling & Reporting Manage daily cash handling, balance the tills, and report on any discrepancies.
- Compliance & Cleanliness: Oversee restaurant cleanliness, health & safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Customer Feedback: Actively seek and respond to customer feedback, making adjustments to service or operations where necessary.
- Stock & Supplies Coordination: Liaise with suppliers, manage stock levels of front-of-house items (cutlery, napkins, drinks), and coordinate with the Management for food supplies.
- Promotions & Special Offers: Implement and promote any in-house offers or loyalty programs, working with the Management team & Ownership to maximise engagement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, support, and motivate the team to perform their best.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to manage shifts, schedules, and daily operations efficiently, particularly during busy periods.
- Customer-Oriented: A friendly, approachable personality with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
- Problem-Solving: A quick thinker who can handle customer issues, staff challenges, and service disruptions effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service quality at all times.
