Being a carer means you need to be flexible, reliable, possess a compassionate and caring attitude and treat all clients with respect, dignity and inclusivity. Your role may include one or more of the following but the choice is always yours:

• Providing companionship
• Support with personal care such as showering, bathing and toileting
• Helping with mobility around the home
• Overseeing medication
• Helping around the house with cleaning, cooking and tidying
• Running errands such as food shopping or picking up prescriptions
