*Job Overview*
Our client is looking for confident, passionate support workers who have experience working with young people with complex disabilities. Support worker will need knowledge of PEG Feeding, Hoisting, Electric Wheelchair Use, and Epilepsy.
The right individuals will work with the client on additional activities that will help to improve the quality of life, for example, sensory work, physio, and other designated activities.
Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 10 am to 2pm.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals with disabilities in various settings, such as nursing homes or residential facilities.
*Duties*
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support individuals with disabilities
- Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if required
- Administer medication following prescribed guidelines
- Support individuals with dementia care needs
- Perform heavy lifting tasks when necessary
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nurses, to ensure holistic care for clients
*Skills*
- Experience in care or nursing roles is advantageous
- Proficiency in first aid procedures
- Ability to handle medication administration responsibly
- Knowledge of senior care practices
- Competence in meal preparation for individuals with specific dietary requirements
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.00-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
