Job Introduction
Role Name: Senior Intelligence Analyst
Contract: Permanent Location: Office
Security Clearance: BPSS SC Region: London
Salary: £41,900 Grade: F (Upper)
Department: Inspections & Enforcement
About Us
The SIA is the organisation responsible for the regulation of private security. The SIA’s purpose is protecting the public through effective regulation of the industry and working with partners to raise standards across the sector. Its regulatory remit covers the whole of the United Kingdom. It is an independent, arm’s length body (ALB) of the Home Office, reporting to the Home Secretary, under the terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
The SIA has two main duties: the compulsory licensing of individuals undertaking designated activities within the private security industry and the management of a voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme, which measures private security suppliers against independently assessed criteria.
SIA licensing covers security operatives who are in guarding, door supervision, close protection, cash and valuables in transit, and public space surveillance using CCTV, vehicle immobilisation (in Northern Ireland) and key holding. Licensing ensures that private security operatives are fit and proper persons who are properly trained and qualified to do their job.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to undertake a pivotal leadership position in an evolving intelligence function.
As Senior Intelligence Analyst, you will lead a small team of Researchers and Intelligence Analysts who are responsible for delivering strategic, tactical and operational intelligence and risk products.
Your role will be instrumental in informing the organisation about key threats facing the industry, helping shape an intelligence led approach through identifying opportunities for operational activity and defining strategic priorities.
The SIA have recently implemented the Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) – you would therefore be joining the team during a period where there is scope to enhance and further professionalise our outputs in line with this framework. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is creative, and opportunity focussed.
You will hold a key leadership position within the Intelligence function, supporting the continuous improvement of departmental processes, outputs and team culture.
What are we looking for?
You will be an experienced and enthusiastic intelligence professional with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. You will have experience of team development and working with others to achieve a shared goal.
We want our future team player to have an interest in Intelligence and Leadership or already be working in this arena with an interest in taking a next step up from being an Intelligence Analyst or similar.
Given the evolving technologies, it’s vital our new team player can keep abreast of developments and changes in Intelligence, as well as working in a fast-paced, but extremely exciting environment.
The post holder should take a proactive approach to their work and be self-motivated, demonstrating high levels of personal responsibility to support organisational priorities.
What you will be doing:
