YOUR ROLE
Our XP Auto team based in Chipping Warden offer unique services from fleet management services to global mobility, providing our customer base with bespoke fleet management and logistics services from transportation, company car, vehicle care and event services and we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Service Technician where you will maintain and repair vehicles to specific manufacturing requirements and guidelines ensuring work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
This role will see you working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, and we can offer flexibility with starting and finishing times dependent on requirements.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Director of Technical Services, you will work within a small technical service team where your main areas of responsibility will be:
To be successful in your application you must be able to demonstrate experience as a vehicle service technician with certifications in Level 1, 2 and 3 motor vehicle engineering or equivalent. You will have previous experience of working in an automotive, workshop or service environment, experienced in vehicle diagnostics and interpreting manufacturing specifications.
You will be knowledgeable in vehicle and workshop quality standards and have an inquisitive mindset where you will actively problem solver, ensuring operational efficiency. It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator with a strong attention to detail and a keen interest in the automotive industry.
It would be desirable, however not essential if you have experience in working with EV or Hybrid vehicles.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

- Carry out vehicle PDI’s and repairs conducting basic mechanical work, brakes, servicing, and tyre fitment.
- Complete rectification work on vehicles meeting client and company specifications, guidelines, and standards.
- Manage and maintain activities through systems and portable tablets, ensuring accurate labour time is booked to meet operational demand.
- Ensure the completion of all workshop documentation and compliance following company and manufacturer procedures.
- Ensure parts are requested, adding technical specifications and notes.
- Collaborate with Garage Support and the Technician Team to promote consistent productivity within the workshop.
- Identify vehicle defects or symptoms of impending failures reporting issues to the damage team if repairs cannot be conducted.
- Interpret technical service information and data.
- Adhere to company standards ensuring all tools and equipment is clean, safe, and stored, reporting damage or faults to management.
- Comply with health and safety processes and procedures, ensuring working environments are clean and tidy and PPE is worn.
