We are looking for a self-employed Commercial Electrician / Subcontracting Commercial Electrician to assist and join our team. Here at Precision Contracting Services Ltd. Our Subcontracting Commercial Electricians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings such as offices, retail stores, hospitality and industrial facilities. This position requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
What’s on offer:

• Location: ongoing projects at various sites throughout the UK. Head office based in Nottingham (near Jct 26 of M1). Must be able to commute to Nottingham on as an when necessary.

• Rates of Pay: Paid Weekly (1 week in hand) Competitive rates.
• Hours of work: typically 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm on a Friday. (these hours are always project depending on and may vary).

Key Accountabilities:

• Attention to Detail: Maintain high standards of workmanship and a keen eye for detail to ensure quality finishes.
• Installation: Install electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and control systems, in commercial buildings.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand the layout and specifications of electrical systems.
• Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with local, and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, using appropriate testing devices and tools.
• Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and others.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other tradespeople, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and to specifications.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task.
• Equipment Use: Operate and maintain various electrical tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide excellent service.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties as may reasonably be required.

Essential Personal Profile:

• UK valid driving licence.
• Valid Industry ECS Card.
• 2391 Testing Qualification.
• Possess own tools fit for purpose.
• At least 3 years industry experience in similar role.
• Commercial electrical experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Show a willingness to be helpful, enthusiastic and flexible.
• Possess strong self-motivation and be a good self-organiser to carry out necessary duties.

Desirable Personal Profile:

• Possess an up to date First Aid Certificate.
• Possess an up to date Asbestos Awareness Certificate.
• Possess an up to date Pasma Certificate.
• Hold an IPAF Licence.
• SSSTS / SMSTS (either one)
