Job title: Support Worker
Location: Green Gables, Wingfield Rd, Alfreton DE55 7AN
Rate Of Pay: £11.44 per hour
Shift Patterns: 33 hrs, full time.
Information about the Role: As a Support Worker at Green Gables the main function of your role will be to provide exceptional care to service users, under the direction of the Registered Manager, in accordance with best practice, and in line with policy, procedures and legislation.
Working as a Support Worker at Green Gables your duties will include the following:
We can care for people on a short or long-term basis and offer respite stays to enable loved ones to take a well earned break and recharge their batteries. Individually tailored provision includes personal care, health and wellbeing, rehabilitation, and activities within the home and out in the community provided by our specialist team. We work closely with each person we support, their families and loved ones to build a personalised support plan based on their needs, wishes and aspirations.

- Assist service users individually as required to support them with daily routines and activities.
- Providing emotional support for an individual and at times their families.
- Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health and safety of service users at all times.
- Ensure that service users’ rights are protected.
- Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Observe service users ensuring a safe environment, protecting them from harm.
- Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
- Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
- Maintain an awareness of Health and Safety requirements.

Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Support worker:
- Previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Domiciliary Carer or Senior preferred.
- Caring, kind and considerate.
- Passionate about making a difference in someone else’s life.
- Good communication skills.
- Able handle sometimes challenging situations.
- Able to build relationships with many different people and work flexibly.
- Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (desirable).
