Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant Apprentice based in the Selly Oak area of Birmingham to support educators in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment for children.
Working as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will be supporting pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs. You will be supporting the teacher with tasks such as preparing the classroom, setting up and clearing away activities, helping students with reading and numeracy, helping with lesson planning and managing classroom behaviour.
Duties

• Assist the lead teacher in delivering educational activities and lessons tailored to the needs of each child.
• Provide care and supervision for children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Support children with special educational needs, including those on the autism spectrum, by implementing individualised learning plans.
• Communicate effectively with children to encourage their participation and engagement in classroom activities.
• Help maintain a clean and organised classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods as necessary.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting social skills and emotional development.

Requirements

• Grades 4/C or above in English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with students and staff.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude are crucial for success in this role.
• Self motivated and able to work well using own initiative
• Passionate about working in an education setting
• Excellent time keeping and reliable

Successful candidates will enrol onto the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship which is delivered remotely and in the workplace by Swift Teaching.

Pay: From £6.40 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
