Technical Service Management Data Storage Specialist

Job Description:
The opportunity:

Responsible for Digital Solutions Data Storage, archiving and back up across the UK

What you’ll do as a Technical Service Management Data Storage Specialist
Key Accountabilities:

Manage, motivate and develop the teams across the operational areas ensuring members effectively priorities work and time
Guarantee tight deadlines will be met by planning and prioritising work efficiently
Ensure effective communication with Digital Solutions, business and project stakeholders
Support the UK / DS business strategy ensuring that delivered services are aligned and provide true value to the business.
Use expert knowledge to identify risks and identify continuous improvement opportunities across the estate
Ensure control of services to ensure efficient use across the Digital Solutions estate
Ensure TSM compliance with governance controls
Support the IBP process
Understand and input to Service continuity planning, testing and exercises
Provide support to Head of TSM as directed.
Deputise for other TSM within the department where required.
Add value to the Change Advisory Board
Manage and administer the organization's data storage infrastructure, including storage arrays, SAN/NAS systems, and backup solutions.
Monitor storage performance and capacity to ensure optimal storage availability and efficiency.
Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions to protect critical data.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement storage solutions based on business requirements.
Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades, patching, and storage provisioning.
Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, including data corruption, disk failures, and performance bottlenecks.
Conduct periodic storage audits and assessments to identify potential risks and recommend remediation actions.
Maintain documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data storage and management.

What we need from you:

Broad technical knowledge and understanding of services supported within scope of TSM .
Experience of creating and implementing process
Ability to engage and influence key stakeholders.
Ability to manage internal and external issues to deliver the business outcome
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing and maintaining enterprise-level data storage infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, RAID configurations, and data deduplication.
Experience with backup and recovery solutions, such as tape libraries, disk-based backup, and cloud storage.
Familiarity with storage protocols and standards, such as Fibre Channel, i SCSI, and NFS.
Excellent understanding of data management principles and best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., EMC Storage Administrator, Net App Certified Data Administrator) are a plus Actively applies skills to influence across the wider business
Experience of managing external contracts and stakeholders
