Job Title: Temporary Nursery Assistant
Location: Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex
Variable hours, Monday to Friday (no weekend working)
Sunshine Day Nursery has recently expanded into brand new air conditioned premises, and we are now looking for experienced temporary staff who can be flexible and provide occasional cover, often at short notice. The ideal applicants should have previous childcare experience and hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in childcare and education.
You will be joining an outstanding, family run nursery based in Shoreham-by-Sea. We own just one nursery, and pride ourselves on knowing our staff well, and giving our full support to all members of the team. Several staff have been with us for over 10 years, and the manager has worked for Sunshine for more than 20 years!
The Nursery is in a beautiful converted Victorian building, with our brand new extension next door. We have a lovely garden space which has more than doubled in size! We are located in the heart of Shoreham-by-Sea, just a few minutes walk from the train station and bus stops. Free on street car park is available close by.
Our staff team share our passion for providing a safe, caring and stimulating environment which allows children to thrive and develop into happy and confident individuals.
Temporary staff are required to step in to cover for staff absences and holidays. Duties may include organising children's activities, supporting key people with individual and small groups of children, preparing and serving snacks, encouraging good nutrition and sociable eating and cleaning the nursery. You will follow the EYFS and other appropriate legislation and guidance for the care of children in the Early Years age range.
Hours are as and when required. We cannot guarantee regular hours. Salary is dependent on age, experience and qualifications
We are open between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday for 51 weeks of the year.
The Nursery is committed to safer recruitment and the successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Pay: £10.00-£12.82 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
