Perfect Vehicle Preparation are looking for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our team based in Chipping Warden, Northamptonshire on a full-time, permanent basis. The working hours are 45 hours per week offering an hourly rate of £16.00.

This role will be a key part of the vehicle preparation process and will be responsible for mechanically assessing and rectifying vehicles to a defined customer standard with the skills required to fulfil all aspects of the role.
You must hold a Level 3 Vehicle Technician or equivalent (NVQ or similar) qualification.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assessing vehicles as defined and diagnosing all mechanical and electrical faults.
• Identifying mechanical faults in brakes, engine (knocks, whines etc.), gears, electrics, suspension problems etc.
• Be familiar with deciphering diagnostic codes on dashboard.
• Ability to diagnose air conditioning system faults and re-gas vehicles.
• Testing vehicles utilising equipment and recognised test procedures and techniques.
• Recording defects and/or symptoms of impending failure.
• Vehicle rectification in a safe and correct manner, where required.
• Completing servicing and repairs to different makes and models of cars.
• Ensuring all relevant system / paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
• Understands the needs of both customers and the company and demonstrates this in their work.
• Takes ownership of all aspects of their role, working without close supervision and demonstrating effective self-management.
• Strong organisational skills.
• Able to work as a team, and support and assist colleagues.
• You may be required to undertake other duties to meet business requirements and settings, including working alongside other departments.
• Comply with all Health and Safety instructions and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others who may be working or entering the work area and report all hazards to your line manager.
