Site Operator
We are looking for a Woodyard Supervisor to work at our waste wood processing facility on Hill Barton Industrial Estate, Exeter.
You will:

• supervise and ensure the safe day to day waste wood processing operations at our site;
• provide line management support to the team of site operators, to optimise their performance and engagement, and to ensure wood processing requirements are met in a safe and timely manner;
• ensure the woodyard is operated in compliance with our EA permit.

This is a full-time position working on a rolling 2 week shift rota:
Week 1: 6.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday, 8am-1pm Saturday
Week 2: 8.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday, Off Saturday
You will need to have demonstratable experience operating a Loading Shovel and Excavator, and you will be required to use the machinery during the interview process.
You must be self-motivated and reliable as you will be working outside, within a yard environment.
Duties of the Woodyard Supervisor

• Supervising the processing of waste wood and production of Plant fuel at the site from receipt of raw waste wood, sorting, shredding and screening process, testing and storage of A-Grade to dust monitoring and the export of processed material;
• Inspecting incoming loads and rejecting if required;
• Operating a Loading Shovel and Excavator, Screener, Shredding Machine and Forklift;
• Communicating with customers, hauliers and Plant Managers
• Overseeing and recording daily cleaning and maintenance works in relation to all equipment at the site to ensure it is kept in a clean, safe and working state;
• Line Managing and supporting the team of 3 site operators, and maintain sufficient staffing levels, providing or arranging necessary cover where required, ensure output requirements are met;
• Ensuring that the Brooke Biomass site is operated in adherence with the Health and Safety policy, defined procedures and Risk Assessments;
• Being responsible for the safety of all personnel on site and ensuring that the site is operated in adherence with the Health and Safety policy, defined procedures and Risk Assessments;
• Maintaining and updating the computerised waste transfer system;
• Maintaining and updating the Work Orders for your site on the Central Maintenance Management System (Fiix);
• Assisting with writing SOPs and authorising Permits to Work.

Requirements
As a small company everyone is expected to be able to communicate well, multitask and undertake a wide variety of work and work at a faster pace than average.

• Demonstrable experience operating a Loading Shovel, Excavator and Forktruck
• Demonstrable experience in either Renewable Energy, Waste Management, Manufacturing, or Agricultural sectors
• Line Management experience is highly beneficial
• Ability to manage workload and conflicting priorities
• Enthusiastic and positive attitude
• Proactive, flexible, and adaptable
• Due to the site location and hours of work, it is essential that you have your own transport
