Overview: Job Summary
Work with current personnel to learn skills to effectively support, analyze, and document an Enterprise WAN/LAN focused on corporate office, stores, and distribution centers. Learns to install and maintain all network hardware and software; diagnose and document hardware and software network problems in a timely and accurate manner. Perform related work.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with IT Staff to learn how to analyze network performance and isolate network issues.
Provide system support for all aspects of cabling and networking hardware and software products.
Learn to monitor network hardware and software including routers, switches, wireless controller, VPN appliances, and PBX’s.
Monitor network performance and respond to alerts as necessary.
Monitor, test, and report on network performance.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory.
Participate in research on network products, services, and protocols.
Prepare procedure manuals and help sheets for network installations.

Requirements
Education:

Associates in a technology related discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience.

Experience:

Demonstrating knowledge of network hardware and operating systems.
Demonstrating knowledge of SNMP MIB network performance monitoring.
Demonstrating familiarity with network routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VRRP), switching protocols (La CP, Etherchannel).
Exhibiting strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Preferred Education, Experience and/or Credentials:

CCENT, ATSP
CCNA, ACMA
