Position Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting employees with Human Resources and benefit related questions and issues.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Is the initial employee contact for problem resolution in health insurance, flexible spending accounts and 401(k)/retirement issues
Accurately communicates all benefits programs (i.e. life insurance, short term disability, long term disability, flexible spending accounts, etc.) to employees
Provides employees with answers to Human Resources related questions
Enrolls employees into the medical plans and ensures delivery of complete insurance package
Approves and audits benefit information in Infinium
Handles court orders pertaining to medical coverage
Handles employee benefits verifications
Complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with general Human Resources administration
Acts as a liaison between employees and all other Human Resources staff
Distributes employee incentive program awards, gifts, etc.

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

High School Degree or equivalent
Prior office experience preferred
Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Knowledge of Mohegan Sun’s insurance packages and 401(k)/retirement plan
Intermediate knowledge in Infinium
Ability to navigate the HR Portal and Manager Self Service system
General knowledge of payroll procedures
Basic understanding of all departmental responsibilities related to the operation of Mohegan Sun

Training Requirements:

Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Training courses
Excellent customer service skills
Demonstrates a variety of problem solving skills
Must become HIPAA certified

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Office work environment
Must sit in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
