Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Human Resources, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the HRIS and Data Analyst to the Divisions/Regional Offices by working closely with agency leadership to develop HR strategies that support the agency’s mission. This position will assist in the overall operations of the Office of Human Resources, with special emphasis on Human Resource Information Systems, transactions, and time and absence, payroll support, and overall customer services to the Department of Environmental Quality.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer operations and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; HRIS Systems (i.e. Oracle, Cardinal HCM, Peoplefluent, etc.)
  • Knowledge and/or experience with HR principles and practices.
  • Progressively responsible experience in absence management, payroll, and transactional functions of HR.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to use database software to compile, manage, and report data.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and reach conclusions, which are logical and legally supportable.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, follow, and communicate administrative policies.

Additional Considerations
  • Major course work in human resources, public or business administration or training in human resource principles, practices, and procedures through academic course work, seminars, or on-the-job training.
  • Experience with Cardinal and/or Oracle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience with Commonwealth of Virginia human resource policies/procedures.
