Elementary Intervention Specialist

ELEMENTARY INTERVENTION SPECIALIST TEACHER

SUMMARY: This person will be employed as an elementary school intervention specialist.

DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
1. Follow students’ individualized education plans and document progress.
2. Teach within a cross categorical setting.
3. Prepare lesson plans for students assigned to a resource room.
4. Complete and process reports as required by the state’s Model of Policies and Procedures regarding students with disabilities.
5. Work cooperatively with the Director of Student Services.
6. Inform students and parents of teacher expectations and subsequently enforce classroom policy fairly and consistently.
7. Conduct conferences and communicate with parents on a timely and needed basis throughout the school year.
8. Perform such routine activities as maintaining classroom inventories, requesting goods and services, and transmitting student and classroom reports on time.
9. Be willing to participate in scheduled after school events that have a direct relationship with students and parents.
10.Comply with established building and district level policies and procedures.
11.Be willing to work cooperatively with all staff members using consensus and team building Strategies.
12. Design specific interventions for students to reach academic, behavior and career goals.
13.Complete other professional responsibilities as necessary and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Ohio Special Education Certificate/License in the area of Intervention Specialist
2. Ability to work well with young people and provide a positive influence on their educational experience
3. Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, parents, and community members
4. A willingness to engage in professional development activities
5. High personal and professional standards

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Effective Date: 2024-2025 School Year
2. Length of Employment: One year limited contract
3. Salary: Based on current negotiated salary and benefit schedule
