Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.
Job Summary
Are you a dynamic and driven sales professional with a passion for creating unforgettable events? We are currently seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our team. In this role, you will use your creativity and sales skills to drive revenue by booking and managing events, from weddings to corporate conferences. The primary focus is to sell Banquet Food and Beverage with other responsibilities including menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services. Other duties will include reviewing contracts and facilitating communication before, during and post event with hotel staff to ensure a high level of service. The Event Sales Manager will also contribute to site inspections, maintaining strong customer relationships and working as a team member with the sales and catering staff. The ideal candidate is a natural communicator with a proven track record of sales success and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. - Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or related field and/or 2+ years of hotel sales experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of event planning and logistics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software
- 1 year food and beverage experience
- Confident and professional appearance
- Proactive sales approach, assertive and fast paced, driven to succeed
- Understanding of market segment, competitor’s strengths, weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand
- Time management skills
- Being able to work on multiple projects with desired outcome for each
- Creativity in designing events
