Atlantic Transits Inc is a trucking company that handles the shipping of goods and materials through the Port of Boston, Port of NY/NJ, and other various shipment bases across the United States.
The ideal candidate will assist our main Freight Broker with their daily needs scheduling, organizing and communicating between the customer and carrier.
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Freight Broker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist in facilitating the movement of goods and materials by connecting shippers with carriers. You will negotiate rates, manage relationships, and ensure timely delivery of goods for our customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in freight brokerage or supply chain, good communication skills, organized and an ability to multitask.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the movement of freight and cargo through the steamship line and our truckers
- Communicate via email and phone with customers and carriers to ensure timely delivery service
- Provide quality customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively communicating updates to make sure the cargo arrives safely
- Negotiate pricing and terms with carriers to secure competitive rates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assist with smooth operations and customer satisfaction
- Monitor shipment progress and address any issues that arise during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions, communications, and pricing agreements.
- Experience in freight brokerage or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics and transportation sales processes.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients.
- Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills for accurate record keeping.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
Compensation Package:
- Bonus opportunities
- Commission pay
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Logistics: 1 year (Preferred)
