Mc Cain Food’s facility in Burley, Idaho is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 700 employees. This site specializes in the production of frozen potato products. Fun Fact: 1 in 4 French fries are produced by Mc Cain Foods.

Position Summary:

Responsible for ensuring the factory equipment and work areas are continuously clean and sanitary by using required cleaning agents, equipment and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleans and/or sanitizes equipment and area per established specifications.
• Removes potato and other waste from equipment, machinery and work areas, while avoiding product line flow contamination and process product contamination.
• Assists Operator per request whenever possible.
• Relieves other employees as required during break periods.
• Works downtime and special cleanups as required.
• Communicates problems or changes in production or quality to supervisor and appropriate personnel.
• Clears line flow jams.
• Mixes appropriate chemicals to prepare cleaning agents and uses them as instructed.
• Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning methods including, but not limited to: high pressure hose, foam hose, cleaning agents, hand scrubbing, sweeping and shoveling.
• Promotes and adheres to company safety requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a potato processing facility is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Physical Demand:

Constant: Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently: Stand and talk or hear.
Occasionally: Walk, sit, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
