In Person and Online 6 – 12 Math Tutor/Educator

Desktop Educators is currently seeking an experienced, certified 6 through 12 mathematics teacher located within Brevard County, Florida in the United States to tutor students both in person and online (1-on-1 or small groups of 2 to 4 students) in grade 6 through grade 12 level public, private, and homeschool math courses. Specifically, courses in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, and AP Statistics are required. An ability to connect with students, align effective instructional methods to their learning styles and needs, and use of technology during in person or online sessions is necessary for this position. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree is required.
· 5+ successful years of teaching experience in a public school with a track record of advancing student achievement.
· Valid Florida state teaching certificate covering the appropriate subjects and grade levels.
· Solid background and experience in subjects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Instructs consistently with the mission, vision, and values of Desktop Educators LLC.
· Completes required reports and tasks professionally and in a timely manner (e.g., session plans, collection of grades from parents and students, correspondence with parents and students, etc.).
· Manages time to meet deadlines and adhere to a daily schedule and structure in person or online sessions to maximize opportunities for student learning.
· Collaborates with management to review student data and use it to improve instruction.
· Meets with management as needed to receive feedback on your performance and acting on that feedback.
· Knows how to use technology to conduct in person or online sessions.
· Monitors and reports individual student progress to parent and/or student by email in a timely manner after conducting each session.
· Meets and instructs booked sessions with students at the times designated.
· Develops and maintains each session in a fashion that promotes positive student behavior and conducive to effective learning for all students.
· Prepares plans for booked sessions that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students and shows written evidence of preparation as required.
· Employs effective instructional methods during sessions that aligns with the learning styles and needs of students and presents subject matter in an interesting and engaging way.
· Diagnoses the learning strengths and weaknesses of students and assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
· Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required.
· Assists in the selection of instructional materials such as books or worksheets as needed.
· Maintains ongoing communications with students and their parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of all students via emails and phone calls.
· Establishes and maintains professional and cooperative relations with management, parents, students, and other instructors.
· Demonstrates solid content knowledge and understanding of the content matter.
· Tracks and analyzes student data to identify student learning needs and set ambitious, attainable goals for student progress.
· Plans and implements strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
· Builds relationships with students that demonstrate an open concern and a sense of responsibility for students’ academic growth.
· Maintains an efficient, respectful and positive tone in each session.
· Utilizes time in each session to maximize student learning.
· Ensures that all students are on task at all times during sessions.
· Possesses strong instructional ability, oral and written skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
· Shows passion for the academic subject matter being taught.
· Attends sessions and on-time regularly.
· Holds mastery in subject and ability to teach across various grade levels from grade 6 to grade 12.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
