Summary
The WITS Business Relationship Manager (BRM) will ensure that Water IT is not just a support function but a strategic partner that aligns technology initiatives with Water Stewardship's business goals. By acting as a liaison between WITS, Water Stewardship business groups, and key technology partners (ITS, Customer Operations, and CC&M), the BRM will facilitate clear communication across all levels of our organization, foster collaboration through various governance activities, and drive innovation. This role is crucial for maximizing the value derived from IT investments, enhancing business satisfaction, and managing change effectively. Ultimately, the WITS BRM will help to bridge the gap between technology and business, ensure that IT solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of the organization and contribute to its overall success.
What You'll Do
  • Develops a deep understanding of assigned business organization’s capabilities and strategic priorities to enable support and guidance toward achievement of business objectives.
  • Partners with leaders to identify opportunities to evaluate, sequence and shape initiatives for strategic value.
  • Independently functions as a partner to the business to promote, identify and shape demand that aligns with the business needs and IT capabilities or innovative developments.
  • Represents the business in re-prioritization decisions with respect to the enterprise roadmap and SRP’s strategic goals.
  • Delivers high levels of customer service and responsiveness to all key stakeholders on business projects. Engage with stakeholders to communicate and set expectations for program and project metrics.
  • Works collaboratively with the business to develop business cases that support their initiatives.
  • Builds cross-functional relationships for the convergence of value by partnering with individuals, teams, and organizations to drive meaningful results.
  • Ensures ongoing communications with business organization and functionally centralized IT leaders on enterprise initiatives.
  • Works with central IT function to ensure proper allocation of resources to achieve project objectives for IT related projects.
  • Strategizes with partners alongside architects and IT support team members to develop future roadmaps and explore new capabilities.
  • Contributes to business improvement and efficiency initiatives across the enterprise and recommend IT solutions to help drive these objectives.
  • Understands the IT roadmap and architectural standards, and influences change where necessary on behalf of the business and holds the business accountable to adherence.
  • Influence and manage resources in a matrixed environment in a collaborative manner to advocate for a business organization’s initiatives.
  • Maintains an understanding of projects and their status through completion.
  • Accountable for managing and reporting on post-implementation measurements of success.
  • Handle other projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What It Takes To Succeed
  • 10 years professional experience, including 5+ years championing organizational change (e.g., leading initiatives, products, services, or interactions) preferred.
  • Project experience utilizing Agile project methodologies for technical or software development, preferred.
  • Preferred certifications:
    • Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®)
    • Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM®) with Certificates of Experience
    • Master of Business Relationship Management (MBRM®)
  • Ability to build strong relationships; possess excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and coordinate and provide oversight to resources delivering work product.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and detailed business processes.
  • Experience engaging business leaders to develop strategies and supporting roadmaps.
  • Project experience utilizing Agile project methodologies for technical or software development.
  • Strong listening and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Business Relationship Management principles and practices.
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years cumulative and progressive professional experience.


Education
Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.


Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
