How You Will Make an Impact: The Network Quality Control (QC) Embryologist plays a critical role in the field of assisted reproductive technology (ART) and embryology, where they focus on ensuring the quality and safety of procedures in the research laboratory. This role performs quality control checks and assessments which impacts various aspects of reproductive medicine including laboratory standards, regulatory compliance, research advancements, and ethical considerations. The Network QC Embryologist’s dedication to quality control is essential for the success of IVF procedures.
What You Will Do: The Network QC Embryologist is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and accuracy of all procedures performed. This role will ensure maintenance of high standards within the research laboratory and contribute to the overall advancement and success of fertility treatments. The Network QC Embryologist reports to the Research Director.
  • Oversee the network plastic ware testing program by communicating with industry representatives and individual network laboratory personnel.
  • Manage inventory, order MEA testing products, maintain network plastic consumables inventory, and oversee packaging and shipping of supplies and media solutions.
  • Ship mouse embryos, media, and other supplies to network laboratories.
  • Complete IVM/IVF/IVC (including all steps and media preparation) in the mouse model.
  • Conduct experiments investigating new products and product performance, including assessment of various cellular and molecular endpoints in preimplantation mammalian embryos using multiple analytical techniques.
  • Ensure all work in a laboratory is recorded/documented appropriately, add data to laboratory QC database, and maintain detailed records of embryo and supply inventories.
  • Conduct laboratory maintenance duties within the laboratory.
  • Report results during weekly lab meetings and attend bi-weekly meetings key leaders.
  • Assist in interpretation of experimental results and create graphs and tables of data.
  • Assist in reagent aliquot preparation and inventory.
  • Attend national meetings to learn IVF industry best practices and present data, read scientific literature, and participate in seminars/journal clubs.
  • Assists with QA-check of media osmolality and test for sterility.
  • Communicate with network regarding orders, questions, concerns, and needs pertaining to plastics, media, and general QC/QA/logistics.
  • Troubleshoot issues which arise with network supply and inspect all outgoing shipments to ensure QC specifications are met.
  • Review prices of raw materials, consumables, shipping materials, and freight costs to cost effectiveness.
  • Manage order fulfillment and shipping cycle to meet deadlines based on need and expiration.
  • QC testing for network culture oil and assist with collection of donated human materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Sciences, Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, or a related field required.
  • Post Graduate coursework and/or training preferred.
  • 2+ years of scientific laboratory experience preferred.

CCRM’s Compensation: The salary range represents the national average compensation for this position. The base salary offered will vary based on location, experience, skills, and knowledge. The pay range does not reflect the total compensation package. Our rewards may include an annual bonus, flexible work arrangements, and many other region-specific benefits.
