Outdoor Guest Services Guide (Winter Seasonal)

The Outdoor Guest Services guide seeks to provide an excellent guest experience in the parking, grounds, ticket scanning, and more. This role helps oversee the outdoor guest services trail and ensures that the crew are providing a great first experience to guests arriving at the resort. This position will oversee the rotation of the crew and will at times have to help with the front line and complex issues. We are looking for people committed to providing a stellar guest experience, who are not afraid to embrace change, who are comfortable managing people and holding them accountable and who love the mountains and strive to Give People the Freedom to Ski!
This is a seasonal position from November 2024 - April 2025. Dates are subject to change based on the availability of the applicant and needs of the business. Job Posting Deadline: This position will remain open until filled. Applicants will be reviewed on a rolling basis. You will have the opportunity to schedule a pre screening interview with the Human Resources team at the end of your application.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coach outdoor guest service team members
- Make recommendations for performance appraisals, disciplinary discussions, terminations, and assigning and scheduling work.
- Provide excellent customer service to Purgatory guests.
- Handle specialty problems including parking, grounds, and ticket scanning.
- Be informed on all happenings within the trail.
- Be prepared to help in areas as needed.

Complete opening and closing procedures/processes, including making sure the grounds and lifts are ready to receive guests.
- Trash and recycling management
- Shoveling
- Parking lot
- Provide support to other trails departments with respect to daily operations and supervisory duties, as needed (i.e., if they are short-handed or need additional manpower).
- Help facilitate communication between staff.
- Handle Parking Enforcement and issues
- Continue to enhance the grounds through special projects.
- Familiarity with Purgatory Resort information: hours of operation, events, F&B outlets, etc.
- Proper phone, radio, and email etiquette.
- Maintain an open mind and be willing to learn and adapt.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent guest service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of resort procedures, policies, and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with Purgatory Resort.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance and grounds.
- Maintain an open mind and be willing to learn and adapt.
- Ability to work indoors 100% of the time talking to guests the entirety of the shift.
High School Diploma or GED is required. Must have reliable phone or internet connection for virtual interviews. Must possess an open mind and willingness to adapt. Previous guest service experience strongly preferred. Previous Ski Resort experience is strongly preferred but not required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
The vast majority of the day is spent outdoors in a mountainous winter environment. 90% of the day is spent standing, 10% of the day is spent sitting. Occasionally exposure to loud volumes due to many guests speaking at once. This is a non skiing position.
