Design Associate – Renewable Energy Industry (Solar Design Engineering)

Company Overview
We are an small but innovative company in the renewable energy sector, specializing in solar design engineering and CAD design. We are seeking a motivated Design Associate with a strong interest in renewable energy. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in solar design, even if you have no prior industry experience. You will work under the supervision of a Professional Engineer licensed and will be able to gain experience toward your FE or PE license.
Job Description
As a Design Associate, you will:

• Design high-quality solar plan sets for clients across Florida.
• Collaborate with the team to improve design workflows and processes.
• Learn about solar design engineering and CAD design through provided training and resources.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed solar plan sets using Auto CAD LT and Sketch Up Pro.
• Manage project files and documentation via Google Drive for Desktop.
• Provide constructive feedback to enhance the design process.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects to meet deadlines.

Qualifications
Required

• Passion for learning new things quickly, especially in computers and the renewable energy industry.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical installations in the United States.
• Proficiency with computers running Windows OS.
• Experience with Auto CAD LT, Sketch Up Pro, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ownership of a PC computer with valid software licenses for Auto CAD LT, Sketch Up Pro, and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to use Google Drive for Desktop for workflow management.

Preferred

• Basic knowledge of Solar PV System design.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Compensation

• Compensation is project-based and will be determined by the completion and timely delivery of projects.

• Comprehensive training will be provided at the start of employment.
• Access to supporting templates and files to assist in your role.
