Under general supervision of the Chief Engineer II (CE II), in the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Section (FOMS), the Stationary Engineer (SE) independently performs a variety of skilled work in the operations, maintenance and repair of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, electrical, plumbing, and other building-related systems found at the California State Lottery (Lottery) headquarters complex (HQ), district offices, regional distribution warehouses and other sites statewide as designated by the CE II. The incumbent shall travel daily to Lottery facilities; in a Lottery issued vehicle, primarily in Southern California.
This position is headquartered at the Southern Distribution Center, but will work in all Southern California Region. This position is not eligible for telework.

Working Conditions
a. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5 p.m. typical scheduling with some flexibility in hours depending on operations. May require overtime on nights and weekends and after hours call backs.
b. Travel: Required to drive a state issued vehicle to other Lottery facilities in the southern region. Attend all staff meetings in Sacramento and Lottery approved specialized training when applicable.
c. Other: Work in a low-rise to high-rise public office building environment and warehouse facilities in office areas, mechanical rooms, electrical rooms, roofs, mezzanines, storage areas, outside grounds, and utility plants. May need to use passenger or freight elevator. At times, work involves exposure to unusual elements, such as confined spaces, uneven ground surfaces, hot and cold temperatures, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and loud noises and may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals or require physical risk which require adherence to safety precautions and procedures. Will be provided a utility van to travel daily to Lottery facilities.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience with troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintenance of commercial and/or industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls.
- Experience with general commercial and/or industrial building maintenance and repairs.
- Experience with Building Management Systems and controls.
- Experience with operation and use of common hand tools; drills, sanders, saws, pressure washer, electrical meters, etc.
- Experience with customer service in a technical application.
- General knowledge of electrical schematics and building drawings.
- General knowledge of commercial building codes, standards and regulations.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
