The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) seeks a Women’s Collective Program Manager. The Women’s Collective Program Manager is a strategic member of the Office of the President. The Women’s Collective is a Special Project of the Office of the President with the goal of building a community that inspires Asian American and Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AA & NH/PI) women to become politically engaged by leading the national conversation on AA & NH/PI women representation in politics, uplifting AA & NH/PI women in politics, creating resources and tools for AA & NH/PI women to increase representation in public service, and to connect leaders and stakeholders. This individual is responsible for the programmatic, operations, external engagement and outreach, communication, and administration aspects of the Women’s Collective. The position requires a well-organized self-starter who demonstrates excellent oral and written communication and requires an individual with experience executing small- and large-scale events. Candidates must be comfortable collaborating across departments and managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role is a mid-level, in-person position based in Washington, DC, and involves extensive travel and responsibility. The position reports directly to the President and CEO.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with the President/CEO to establish goals, develop and execute a multi-year work plan to engage more participants in the Women’s Collective through targeted communication and programming.
  • Work with the Chief Operations Officer to develop and manage the program budget.
  • Produce reports that identify the growth of Women’s Collective participants and evaluate empowerment.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with organizations and offices to advance the Women’s Collective further.
  • Plan and execute virtual and in-person events and programming.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Department on a comprehensive, integrated communications plan, including a quarterly newsletter.
  • Contribute to an organizational culture of continuous learning through rigorous program monitoring, data tracking, membership reporting, research, and reflection to ensure strong outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the External Affairs and Development Department on partnership opportunities.
  • Project lead the annual Women’s Collective Summit.
  • Develop educational resource material that will further the mission of the Women’s Collective.
  • Be available for evening and weekend events as well as extensive travel.
  • Perform administrative and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years of progressive experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, preferably in higher education or non-profits.
  • Experience gathering relevant information to make thoughtful, quality administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Demonstrated time and project management skills to perform complex tasks, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex, interrelated problems.
  • Initiative to communicate and coordinate with affected departments.
  • Skill in re-assessing operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Strategic planning skills.
Technical Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite products
  • General knowledge of databases is preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on behalf of the PCEO, both orally and in writing, articulating the PCEO’s message clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit correspondence and other written materials.
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive information with care and confidentiality.
COMPENSATION
  • The salary is $85,000 - $95,000, and includes healthcare premium reimbursement, 21 days of vacation, access to a 401(k) plan after 90 days of employment, all federal holidays off, Christmas through New Year’s off, and transit benefits.
