British Vietnamese International School Hanoi is looking to appoint Head of English, to join our talented and dedicated team of educators from August 2025.

The role

The English department places greater emphasis on providing high quality, relevant, and inclusive teaching within our subjects that carefully considers the needs of individual students. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record at teaching Cambridge IGCSE English and/or experience teaching English A level or equivalent.

We are looking for a leader with strong collaboration skills to take this high performing department to the next level. The successful candidate will be passionate about developing classroom practice, growing others, and developing an ambitious and creative curriculum to inspire our students from KS3 so they continue their learning journey within our subjects into IGCSE, A level and beyond.

Purpose of the Role:

To lead and provide day-to-day management and organisation of the English department
As a key middle leader, assist in developing long-term strategies to raise standards in the subject and the school generally.
Foster a culture of high performance within the team, with learning and student well-being as central foci.
Encourage a culture of collaboration, calculated risk-taking, and support within the team, and promote a shared vision.
Lead the ongoing development of the curriculum, teaching and learning standards, and departmental resources.

Selection Process

The closing date for application is Friday 29th of November 2024 although we encourage early applications and reserve the right to pursue good applications as soon as we are ready.
