The Managing Director will lead the company by driving strategic growth, overseeing the company's operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering consultancy services. The role requires a strong background in civil/structural engineering, proven leadership skills, and the ability to shape and implement the company’s vision and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the company’s strategic plan to achieve business growth and financial stability.
• Identify new market opportunities and expand the company’s portfolio of services and projects.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
• Implement best practices and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Manage resources, including hiring, training, and retaining top engineering talent.
• Lead long-term planning, including business development and risk management.
• Develop and manage the annual budget in line with strategic objectives.
• Monitor financial performance, implement cost-control measures, and drive profitability.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Lead high-level negotiations and oversee major project contracts and partnerships.
• Represent the company at industry events and maintain a positive company reputation.
• Ensure the company adheres to all regulatory and legal requirements related to civil and structural engineering projects.
• Uphold high standards of corporate governance and ethical practices.
• Report to the Board of Directors on company performance, risks, and strategic initiatives.
• Champion innovation in design and engineering practices to maintain the company’s competitive edge.
• Oversee quality assurance processes and ensure continuous improvement in engineering standards and practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Provide inspirational leadership and create a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop the senior management team and foster professional growth throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related field); Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Strong technical understanding in Civil or Structural Engineering to international standard (i.e. Eurocodes)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the engineering consultancy sector.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale projects and delivering successful outcomes.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, forecasting, and achieving financial targets.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make high-impact decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strategic thinking and a vision for growth and development within the engineering consultancy industry.
