About the Opportunity
Bankstown Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced After Hours Nurse Manager to lead our nursing teams and ensure the smooth operation of patient care during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
As a key leader, you will oversee clinical care, manage staff allocations, and respond to emergency situations, ensuring that the highest standards of patient safety and care are maintained. You will collaborate with the hospital’s executive team and medical staff to resolve complex issues and provide guidance on nursing practices. This is a vital role that requires strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

What You'll be Doing
The Nurse Manager participates in or is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services in a management unit, service, complex function or facility to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.
The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital. - Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
