Agile Coach | Gold Coast

Our client, a large complex organisation located on the Gold Coast, are currently seeking an Agile Coach for a fixed term contract until 30th June 2025.
The Agile Coach position primarily exists to embed new ways of working to existing delivery teams as well as kickstarting new platform & product teams to drive delivery in the CTO and for its internal customers.
This role is critical to the successful implementation and embedding of a new operating model.
It includes a key coaching and mentoring role in developing workforce skills in delivery and championing an agile mindset
Roles and responsibilities include;
  • Ensure that team members understand and adhere to agile principles and values
  • Mentor, support and empower various teams with adopting agile work practices. Teams will include Platform and Product squads containing key functions ( e.g development, testing etc )
  • Facilitate events that support the agile lifecycle such as quarterly planning and discovery workshops.
  • Lead training, communications, and related activities to successfully implement agile practices into the culture of the organisation.

  • Lead the Agile Co E stream for CTO, including the ongoing development and improvement of collateral ( playbooks / learning plans etc)
  • Continue to grow the membership and iterate the Agile Co E Community of practice / guilds for CTO, ensuring they are fit for purpose and providing value to the members and the organisation.
  • Liaise with senior leaders and product management teams for the resolution of blockers and improvement of process
  • Lead planning processes to successfully guide the agile journey.
  • Establish and track relevant Agile metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team maturity, identify bottlenecks, and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Communicate and collaborate across business and IT in successfully adopting agile practices, including working on communications plans.
  • Facilitating Agile Maturity Assessments with agile teams and interpreting results and metrics for stakeholders.
  • Coaching to embed feedback loops between Agile teams and appropriate stakeholders
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance team efficiency and delivery.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication within and across teams.
  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies, proactively addressing potential obstacles to successful project completion.
Mandatory qualifications and experience required:
  • 5+ years operating as an Agile Coach in a Digital, matrixed environment is highly regarded
  • Certification in Agile Frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban or Lean) and Certification in Agile Coaching
  • Proven experience in coaching and mentoring teams in agile methodologies and mindset
  • Strong facilitation skills with a track record of leading agile ceremonies effectively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in developing and tracking agile metrics and KPIs
  • Ability to identify process improvements opportunities and implement effective strategies
  • Demonstrated experience in managing risks and dependencies in agile environments
  • Strong firsthand experience with JIRA and other Agile tooling to support the delivery of work
