Proptec is an innovative and progressive family-owned wholesale nursery business which is located in South East Queensland, Australia. Proptec supplies Australian wholesale growers and nurseries with quality plugs, seeds and propagation materials. A full-time role has become available for a qualified candidate with high level of professionalism, experience in production nurseries and customer relations.
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Collecting and analysing data of seeded and tissue culture plugs, soil media, fertiliser and other factors affecting plug production of the nursery plants.
- Advising customers and nursery farm managers on techniques for improving the production of foliage crops as well as providing alternative agricultural options.
- Advising customers on issues such as crop diseases, control of pests and weeds as well as soil improvement techniques.
- Developing procedures and techniques for solving agricultural problems and improving the efficiency of crop production.
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Write procedures, technical notes on crop development.
- Conduct research and keep up to date with any relevant developments in nursery production.
- Carry out relevant administrative duties, manage budgets, update information and prepare reports.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in team environments.
- Must have at least three years previous experience working with seedling plugs, seeded foliage plugs, tissue culture plugs and propagation materials.
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Agriculture.
- Strong knowledge of soil media, fertiliser and chemicals
- Ability to communicate effectively across a variety of mediums.
- Ability to build strong relationships with the client base.
Pay: $75,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
