We are currently seeking an AOD Counsellor Case Manager for our Gladstone office. Your opportunity



As an AOD Counsellor Case Manager based in Gladstone, you will engage and support a cohort of clients 12 years and above in managing, counselling, and treating AOD dependency and related issues. You will advocate for them, celebrate their achievements, and help them build confidence to move forward.


Your responsibilities include providing non-judgmental, client-centred support, conducting assessments, and offering a wide range of clinical and psycho-social interventions. You will work with clients to develop personalised recovery plans collaboratively. Your daily tasks will involve a mix of face-to-face appointments, stakeholder engagement, events, and online meetings (via Microsoft Teams) with staff for case conferences and supervision.


You will undertake some travel, supporting clients at other locations. This position does work with complex client presentations. The sole focus of support is AOD, but case management requires supporting clients who come with complex issues of mental health, domestic and family violence, homelessness, financial concerns, but this is not limited to the clientele.


This is a full-time, ongoing role. The salary ranges between $82,043.52 to $97,377 per annum plus super, depending on the successful candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience.


What you’ll bring



To succeed in this varied role, you will have the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with your clients and our key stakeholders and partner organisations.


You wil l also have the following:

• Tertiary qualifications in a related health services discipline.
• Previous experience in working with clients facing alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues, independent of university placements.
• Applied knowledge of contemporary evidence based AOD counselling practice, case management, intake, and assessment
• You are comfortable working independently as this role will be the sole AOD Counsellor Case Manager in our Gladstone location.
• Possess strong IT skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel and other applications.
• Highly developed communication and community engagement skills.
Current Australian issued Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check (e.g., Blue Card).

While not essential, we’d also love you to have:

• Previous experience working in an outreach service
Demonstrated understanding of the Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD) and Mental Health Sector.
