Lives Lived Well

Engagement, Marketing & Communications Officer

Southport

PART TIME

October 6, 2024

Every year headspace centres help thousands of young Australians to access support and services for their mental and physical health. With a focus on early intervention, headspace services keep young people at the heart of everything they do. We are passionate about helping young people and our offices are designed to create a welcoming space for all.

Your Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to take hold of the reins of our communications channels and initiatives, to connect our headspace services to young people, their families, the broader community and other stakeholders.

Supporting the Community Engagement Strategy and headspace centre services, your day will be bursting with opportunities to flex your creativity in a meaningful mental health promotion context.

Largely driven by content creation and management of our social media channels, you’ll also take on designing digital and print resources, implementing campaigns from headspace National Office, crafting blog updates, keeping our websites up to date through to filming and photographing events out in community.

This position is varied, fun and plays a vital role in promoting our services, supporting mental health literacy, encouraging help-seeking and contributing to the wellbeing of young people.

This is a part-time parental leave replacement role until 1 October 2025, working 3 days per week (22.5 hours) based at our headspace Southport centre but supporting the marketing and communications initiatives across both Southport and headspace Upper Coomera. There is some flexibility in relation to your preferred work days.

The gross hourly rate for this position ranges between $43.08 - $46.36 per hour + super + salary packaging, depending on skills and experience.

What you’ll bring

To succeed in this role, there are some key essentials you’ll need including:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in marketing/communications or previous experience in the field.
  • Highly developed communication skills, particularly written communications/copywriting with previous experience in creating short and long form content.
  • Ability to craft audience specific content to speak to a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work creatively whilst following branding and communications guidelines.
  • Love working with talented people who are humble, human, and full of hope. We’re dedicated to helping others, no matter how difficult or complex the challenge – and you will be too!
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (QLD Blue Card) or ability to apply for this.

We’d also love you to have:

  • Examples of your creative work; content creation, written pieces, marketing/promotional resources.
  • A passion/interest in youth mental health and wellbeing.
