About the role
This role will support implementation of key initiatives, as part of Putting Queensland Kids first funding which include:

• Co-design and implementation of Sustained Home Visiting
• Targeted initiatives and improvements that support the delivery of equitable and integrated health care through collaboration and co-design.
• Advocacy of child & family health services locally and state-wide
• Networking with other Assistant Directors of Child & Family Health state-wide to support consistency of practice.

The Assistant Director of Nursing, Child & Family Health provides contemporary clinical leadership through the role modelling and application of best practice principles, education, leadership, and portfolio management in the translation of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrates specialised knowledge and skills in complex, contemporary child & family health practice, working autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team to promote and enhance safe delivery of care within Child & Family Health
• Demonstrated advanced capability in stakeholder consultation and engagement, employing highly developed written and oral communications and highly effective interpersonal skills of consultation, negotiation, conflict resolution and relationship management that influence effectively and achieve desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in the application of key financial principles and effective resource management practices in complex health service environments.
• Possesses advanced clinical leadership qualities recognised to assess, guide and contribute to implementation of innovative and evidence based clinical practices.
• Provide expert professional advice to primary health care providers regarding service delivery, clinical assessments, and care planning across the continuum, including risk management.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
