While we have over 80 staff located across Australia, Asia, United States and Europe. This role is based in our Frenchs Forest, Sydney headquarters. Our team here works from Monday to Friday so that we can ride bikes on the weekend!
What You'll Do
The Bikes Online Category Specialist controls the purchasing, supply, and inventory of our parts and accessories portfolio. You will be accountable for making sound buying decisions and sourcing the best product opportunities available. Reporting to the Category Manager, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Manage a balanced parts and accessories product line that delivers on revenue, margin, variety of rider needs and boosts overall e-Commerce sales.
- Inventory management including monitoring stock levels, forecasting and reorder reports to ensure adequate inventory turns
- Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales.
- Conduct regular market analysis on direct and similar competitors, including market size, trends and market penetration. Identify gaps and reassess portfolio size and strategy.
- Manage the inventory to ensure continuity of fast-moving, selling product supply for the market whilst achieving targets and performance of priority categories.
- Manage end of life/excess & obsolete stock items, identifying risk and proposing action plans to mitigate risk and minimize profit impact, co-coordinating efforts with marketing to optimize sales velocity.
- Manage and deliver pricing analysis based on market trends, cost price and consumer needs.
- Work effectively with cross-department teams, communicating information regarding new products for the website, sharing details of incoming stock to meet their needs and working constructively to provide the optimal customer experience
- Create, analyse, and present weekly and monthly reports to business leaders.
- Conduct quarterly analysis on new potential market segments.
- Place orders for OEM parts for new and existing bikes, assisted by forecasts from the Warranty team for new bikes, while monitoring inventory levels of existing OEM parts.
- Coordinate ordering of parts from international and local suppliers, sourcing parts from alternative suppliers when OEM parts are not available
- Determine product availability and lead times via inventory planner
- Produce updates and reports to track progress and goals
- Provide or organize training sessions through suppliers for new P&A products to the international Bikes Online Customer Service, Sales and After Sales teams prior to product launch.
- Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure the product listing meets high quality standards and that data is supplied in an appropriate and efficient format.
- Create and maintain internal workflows (Slack, Asana, etc) related to product and purchase order creation to streamline cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate with the Warranty team to enhance communication and coordination of spare parts between Product, Customer Service, and the external warehouse, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Website team, with the support of content writers and in collaboration with the Warranty team, to upload OEM parts with accurate codes, images, descriptions, compatibility details, naming standards, and product specifics.

What You'll Have
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing or business.
- Strong cycling product and industry knowledge.
- Experience in drop shipping or indent buying, and managing an online product catalogue.
- Proven negotiation experience and outcomes.
- Demonstrated analytical ability with advanced planning skills, including forecasting and demand planning for inventory management.
- Experience with collaboration and process automation tools such as Asana, Shopify Apps, and 3rd party entities.
- Strong Google Suite skills, with a high level of proficiency in Google Sheets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Strong people and communication skills, with the ability to work with team members and stakeholders across international time zones.
- Organised, able to multitask, work under pressure, and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and efficiently, and a team player committed to having a positive impact.
