Menu
Work with the Nominated Supervisor/ Centre Manager to plan and prepare all meals for the children, taking into consideration the following:
- Nutritional requirements of the age group
- Cultural and religious differences
- Additional needs of the individual child
- Special needs of the 0 2 year olds
- All children with allergies are catered for with a list on display in kitchen.
- Regularly ordering and maintaining adequate supplies of stores
- Checking the accuracy of food orders delivered to the centre.
- Organising orders of bulk food buying and making provisions for weekly and daily supply of fresh food when indicated.
- Displaying weekly menus for parent information and any changes to menus as necessary.
- Checking the menu for the next day and ensuring that meat is transferred to the fridge for thawing (as required) and supplies necessary to fulfil the menu are on hand.
- Involving small groups of children at different times in the process of food preparation (as required)
- Keep kitchen area clean at all times i.e., cupboards, doors, bench tops, oven etc.
- Kitchen door to be closed in compliance with policy.
- Ensure adequate cleaning supplies are kept in the kitchen i.e., dishwashing liquid and washing detergent containers kept full.
- Ensure that all chemicals in the kitchen are stored in compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Policy and the Education and Care Services National Regulations as determined by the Department of Education and Communities
- Ensure that all appliances are cleaned on a regular basis
- Ensure all serving trolleys and trays are cleaned on a regular basis
- Ensure that all food is stored in compliance with Health Regulations
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 32.5 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Working with Children Check (Preferred)
