Clinical Dietitian Level 1/2 - Metabolic & Weight Loss Program

Where you'll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing

Provision of high quality Nutrition and Dietetic services to patients referred to the WSLHD Metabolic & Weight Loss Program. This includes the provision of nutritional assessment, nutrition education and dietetic counselling to outpatients either individually or as a group.
This position also provides nutritional management of inpatients post bariatric surgery as well as dietary counselling of inpatients referred for weight or metabolic management.
This position is actively involved in service development activities as well as contributing to research and quality improvement projects linked to the WSLHD Metabolic & Weight Loss Program.

Essential Requirements

Qualification: Recognised tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitian’s Association of Australia.

Selection Criteria

Recognised tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitian’s Association of Australia.
Post graduate experience in clinical nutrition and up to date knowledge of dietetic practice, with experience in outpatient service delivery. Recent experience in the dietetic management of obesity and / or bariatric surgery nutrition care an advantage.
Evidence of well-developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and experience in working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement, with the ability to work independently with minimum direct clinical supervision.
Demonstrated ability to manage time well and prioritise workloads.
High level computer skills. Experience with CBORD and Cerner e MR or equivalent an advantage.
Experience in clinical research an advantage.
Ability to work a rotating roster, including public holidays, weekends, afternoon shifts and on call, if required.
