What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of the Clinical Informatician is to lead, develop and provide expert guidance in enabling capability for clinical analytics at SCHN, in the context of a learning health system program to make better use of clinical data for improving patient care.

This role has leadership responsibility across identifying and implementing strategy and processes to improve e MR data quality, and standardisation of clinical data management for SCHN, which includes successful completion of individual projects within the program.

Relevant tertiary qualification in information technology, data science or equivalent work experience in a health setting, or a combination of study and work experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of NSW health ICT systems, clinical technology, e MR data structure (preferably Cerner) and interoperability of solutions and gaps.

Highly developed oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on negotiation, consultation, technical strategy and organisational activities.

Significant experience in assembling clinical e MR datasets (preferably from Cerner), including using SQL and/or Python scripting language.

Technical expert level knowledge of clinical, ICT and data governance, and security procedures to communicate data quality initiatives to various stakeholders, including clinical teams.

Experience developing or delivering effective data management principles including data dictionaries, common data models or standard operating procedures.

Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and manage a team in a changing environment, including the ability to plan, prioritise and influence individual and team performance to achieve complex business outcomes and targets.
