The Location
This is a District wide position that will be based at Forest Lodge.

The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the Clinical Coordinator - Adult Survivors Program is to develop and deliver formal and informal educational and programmatic expertise, advanced clinical and strategic leadership in the establishment and implementation of NSW Health’s new Adult Survivors Program – a specialist integrated program for adult survivors of child sexual abuse with complex needs.

This position requires expert knowledge of evidence based psychological assessment, diagnosis, case formulation and treatment/interventions for complex trauma as it is manifested in cognitive, emotional, motivational, personality and behavioural disturbances. The role will educate, train and support clinicians and health workers in working within a trauma informed, strengths and evidence-based framework in delivering care to adult survivors of child sexual abuse with complex needs. The Clinical Coordinator, Adult Survivors Program, will participate in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services, lead in the development and provision of education and training programs, staff wellbeing strategies and will be expected to supervise clinicians where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate is someone who...
  • Holds one of the following:
    • Social Worker Level 5: Must hold as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, and previous employment at a Level 4 or higher.
    • Senior Clinical Psychologist: Registered Clinical Psychologist with AHPRA and Postgraduate Degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or Ph D) with an endorsement in Clinical Psychology and have a minimum of 6 years clinical experience at the clinical psychologist grading.
  • Has recent and extensive post graduate clinical experience in trauma specific provision of clinical staff supervision and clinical services with adult survivors of child sexual abuse with complex trauma (mental health and/or alcohol and other drug issues), and commitment to integrated ways of working with clients who have experienced trauma and abuse.
  • Holds a current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) and has the ability to work across various locations and outreach sites within the district as needed. A NSW Driver's Licence would be preferable.
