About the Role

We are seeking highly motivated nursing staff with a passion for education to join our Emergency Department education team. Applications are invited from registered nurses with extensive clinical experience and a strong commitment to education for the position of Permanent Part-time Clinical Nurse Educator Albury Emergency Department, Wodonga Emergency Department and the Close Observation Unit.

Our education team pride themselves on their innovation, development and delivery of education programs to support the continuum of learners within the Emergency and Critical Care division. This position provides the opportunity to gain specialty education experience in a new state of the art regional Emergency Department. Successful candidates will work as a cohesive, collaborative, and high-performing team to contribute towards staff professional development.

The role of the Emergency & Critical Care Clinical Nurse Educator is to provide professional practice and work-place clinical education to all nursing staff employed in the Emergency and Critical Care Division. Major components of the position include;
Supporting the Nurse Educator (NE) in the development and maintenance of care standards by providing strong leadership with an education focus
Facilitating the transition of new graduates, undergraduate and other nursing staff to the clinical environment by supporting action learning in the clinical setting, including transition to specialty practice (TSP) staff
Develop and facilitate education for staff participating in Graduate Certificate studies, including the liaison with external education providers
Assisting staff to achieve mandatory training requirements and enhancing clinical skills
Developing and assessing clinical nursing competencies for staff when required
Assist in the development of policies, procedures and learning packages relating to nursing practice
Work collaboratively to identify and complete educational gap analysis to inform education programs in Emergency and Critical Care
Any other educational requirements specific to ECC Division in order to maintain a high quality of practice amongst staff

Candidates meeting the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
Current registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse
Tertiary postgraduate qualification in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing
Tertiary postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education (or willingness to work towards)
Vocational Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is highly desirable (or willingness to work towards)
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skill in Emergency/ Critical Care.
Demonstrated clinical education skills with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work within a team structure in a multidisciplinary environment.
