Crew Leader – Waste Management | MFT Rural

MFT Rural is seeking a Crew Leader to oversee our under wool shed clean out services, operating across South Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria.
Role Overview:
As a Crew Leader, in return for an attractive salary package, you'll lead a small team in delivering waste management services, driving trucks to various sites, operating machinery, and ensuring our clients receive high-quality service across rural SA, NSW, and VIC. This role is essential to keeping our operations running smoothly, and we're looking for someone with the mechanical knowledge and leadership skills to take charge. This is a hands-on supervisory role, you’ll be working alongside the team members and setting the pace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team to deliver waste management services efficiently and safely.
- Driving trucks and operating the vacuum machine and jib.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery.
- Liaise with customers to understand their needs, clarify waste disposal locations, and provide job completion updates.
- Conduct site inspections before starting work.
- Supervise and train staff, including managing daily hours and coordinating meals while on site.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and address operational challenges.
- Ensure adherence to safety and company policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to PPE requirements.
- Travel to Various Locations: Experience the beauty of rural SA, NSW, and VIC while working across multiple sites each month.
- Flexible Work Arrangements: While the typical schedule is three weeks on and one week off, periods of being away may vary depending on workload (5-30 days at a time).
- Primary Worksite: Our main operational site is in Hart, South Australia, where you will report before heading out to different locations.
- MR Licence (essential).
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform preventive maintenance and fault finding.
- Strong work ethic and adaptability to different work environments.
- Experience supervising and training a small team.
- Understanding and implementation of relevant WHS requirements.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable character and commitment to job completion.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks in various conditions.
