This position requires: - Shapes strategic thinking by building a shared sense of purpose and direction and leading the translation of the DESI vision into legislation, policies and strategies that will assist the Department to meet Government and Departmental priorities.- Achieves results through the identification of critical success factors, ongoing leadership and management of teams and encouraging and implementing continuous improvements to deliver results.- Cultivates productive working relationships by encouraging engagement and consultation with key internal and external stakeholders, promoting partnerships and facilitating a collaborative and cooperative approach to achieve outcomes.- Exemplifies personal drive and integrity by navigating complex, ambiguous and political environments and progressing actions to get results.- Communicates with influence by negotiating and influencing a range of stakeholders and tailoring communication style and language to the audience's level of skill and experience and anticipating others' reactions to achieve outcomes.- Demonstrates a good knowledge of working with indigenous communities and traditional owners and associated legislation such as the Nature Conservation Act 1992 and the Forestry Act 1959 and other relevant directives, policies and procedures, and proven ability to apply such knowledge in the resolution of complex and emerging issues.- Contribution to workplace equity and diversity that enriches our culture of safety, innovation, respect and inclusion.
