Disability Support Worker with Complex Mental Health Experience

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and support. We are seeking a skilled Disability Support Worker to join our team and contribute to our mission.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to individuals with disabilities and complex mental health needs, assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and community involvement.
Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
Address and manage complex mental health situations with empathy and professionalism, providing emotional support and crisis intervention as needed.
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes independence and personal growth for each client.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress, care activities, and mental health observations.
Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and team members to ensure high-quality care and support.
Utilize your vehicle to transport clients to appointments, social activities, and other engagements.

Requirements:

Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable car.
Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs.
Previous experience in disability support or a related field is preferred.
Empathetic, patient, and able to build rapport with clients facing diverse challenges.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Certification in First Aid and CPR is an asset.
A clear background check and relevant qualifications (e.g., Certificate III in Disability) will be required.

Pay: From $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 24 per week

Afternoon shift
Evening shift
Monday to Friday
Morning shift
On call
Rotating roster
Weekend availability

Licence/Certification:

First Aid & CPR Certification (Preferred)
Working with Children Check (Preferred)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (Preferred)
NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Preferred)
Driver Licence (Preferred)
CFA Certificate (Preferred)
Infection and Prevention Control Certificate (Preferred)

Work Authorisation:

Australia (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
