About the role
We have an opportunity for an Environment Advisor to support Water Corporation in delivering environmental outcomes by supporting the development and implementation of environmental approval strategies, providing environmental advice and delivering environmental approval documentation. This role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of environmental management project strategy as it relates to project design and environmental approvals across a broad spectrum of project life cycles.
This role will be based in our Leederville office and will report to a Team Leader – Approvals Delivery Team within the Approvals, Regulation and Performance Section of the Environment Business Unit.

What the role will involve
- Support the development and execution of environmental management project strategy across the full project life cycle in Water Corporation assets.
- Provide advice and develop project documentation to navigate State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and associated legal instruments, associated with desalination, water sourcing, pipelines, wastewater treatment and disposal within terrestrial and marine environments across Western Australia.
- Support the management of change for new environmental compliance obligations and legislation changes, including effective communication to stakeholders.
- Support improvements to the EMS standards and procedures, to ensure the Corporation meets its environmental management objectives under Thrive 2035.
About you
- Experience delivering project approvals, Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental management plans.
- Knowledge of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation associated with environmental management in the water industry (particularly the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999).
- Experience in supporting project outcomes aligned with corporate objectives through working with multidisciplinary teams, within and external to your organisation.
- Capability to work independently, within teams and the ability to establish constructive working relationships within the multidiscipline Water Corporation teams.
