About the role
Under limited supervision, the Grant Funded Scientist is required to contribute to the efficient operation of the Translational Unit by coordinating research activities towards the Unit’s goals of understanding pathophysiology, identifying therapeutic targets and improving the efficiency of diagnosis for a group of complex inherited metabolic disorders known as lysosomal diseases. The incumbent will also be responsible for the execution of research projects within the Unit and is expected to contribute to the supervision of junior staff and students as well as assisting with writing grant applications and manuscripts, at a post-doctoral level.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or an equivalent qualification and relevant experience in research laboratory.

Essential Requirements:

• Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
• Working with Children Check
• Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
