Are you an experienced kitchenhand who has worked in a fast paced, commercial kitchen? Do you have good knife skills and produce consistent results? Are you passionate about providing fresh nutritious meals to the most vulnerable youths in our community? Do you want a lifestyle roster with no split shifts or night work? As a kitchen team member, you will receive penalty rates for weekend and public holiday shifts. There are also opportunities for overtime and higher duties in the cook positions for the right candidate.
We are seeking energetic, honest and reliable casual staff to join our kitchen team. Successful applicants may be engaged in day shifts, with weekend rosters also available. Start and finish times will vary, however shifts will be scheduled between 6.00am and 6.00pm.
As Kitchenhand you will specifically:

As Kitchenhand you will specifically:
- Assist in the preparation and provision of nutritious and varied meals to young persons and staff.
- Adherence to the security and safety of the Youth Detention Centres by observance of operational procedures and standards as they impact on kitchen processes and procedures.
- Maintain a hygienic, safe and secure working environment, including cleanlinessof work areas and kitchen equipment.
- Assist in the control of stores and provisions.
- Contribute to an effective system of stock control, e.g. recording and stocktakes.
- Undertake administrative procedures in the food services area, including procedures for ordering, storing and distributing stores.
