About the role
Based at our Jindivick Site, we are seeking a team-oriented, experienced Laboratory Technician to join our Laboratory team for a maternity leave role (12 months contract)
Responsibilities include:
- Chemical and bacteriological analyses of in-line and finished product and raw materials.
- Ensure prompt and accurate test results are communicated to internal and external customers, in both written reports and verbally
- Maintain equipment as per cleaning and calibration schedules and ensure housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at all times.
- You will also receive, check and store all consumables for the laboratory and undertake other duties as required
- Hold a Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar
- Have previous experience in a laboratory supporting a food manufacturing operation and knowledge of good laboratory practices.
- You will have strong communication skills and a dedication to get it right the first time
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
- Have a strong focus on quality and safety and be able to work as part of an effective team
- Have a working knowledge of HACCP, Lean Manufacturing and OH&S are desirable but not essential
