We are looking for an experienced Manager to provide leadership to a team responsible for managing the transfers and storage programs for archival records and manage the archival collection in accordance with national and international archival best practice. You will oversee the collection management system and repository management, along with the conservation and preservation of the archival collection.
In this role you will work collaboratively as part of a team, participate as an active member of Queensland State Archives (QSA) Senior Leadership Team, and engage with a range of stakeholders, including other government agencies.

As Manager you will:

Lead and manage the Collections and Discovery team to achieve strategic priorities and programs of work on time and within budget.
Lead and support the Collections and Discovery team, building the capacity of team members, driving innovation and promoting their professional development and effective performance.
Ensure that archival public records in all formats are managed and preserved in accordance with archival best practice and the Public Records Act 2002 and Public Records Act 2023.
Lead and manage strategic projects and collaborate with teams across QSA to ensure successful and quality outcomes are delivered.
Oversee the QSA transfers program, including the prioritisation of records transferred into the collection, negotiation of restricted access periods and access classifications and considerations of workflows for digital and physical transfers.
Research, analyse and prepare complex reports, ministerial correspondence, submissions, briefing notes, annual reports, presentations, speeches, and other correspondence as required relating to the portfolio.
Foster a professional environment to encourage commitment, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with Departmental policies, practices and procedures relating to Workplace Health and Safety.
Provide high-quality advice and support to the Director, Digital Archives and Collections and the Queensland State Archivist on matters relating to the portfolio.
Actively participate in committees and working groups as required.
