About the opportunity

This is a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Nursing Manager to undertake a leadership position in a new and dynamic team. The Rapid Access Hub (RAH) is a 2 Procedure Endoscopy Room, 11 bay first stage PACU with additional second bay PACU prior to discharge. There are current plans to commission the 3rd and 4th room into Operating Theatres for Day Surgery Procedures and a new Ophthalmology Service which is currently being explored.

The NUM RAH will act as a role model to staff and practice within the core values of Mercy Health.

The role is to provide effective leadership and strategic direction in a Say Surgery Model of Care to ensure high quality, clinical patient care and best practice standards, in line with Mercy Health Policy, Procedure and Guidelines, GENCA & AS5369
To tactically manage the operational, financial, human and information resources within the unit liaising with the Divisional Director and Deputy Divisional Director of Perioperative and Specialist Services and other key stakeholders such as the Operating Suite, CSSD, Elective Waitlist Office, Wards/Departments and external Health Services as required.
An opportunity to commission 2 x Operating Theatres and plan service delivery of same to promote an efficient and safe Day Surgery Hub

Demonstrated previous experience in leadership and staff management

The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
Nursing registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA)
Post Graduate Degree (or working towards) in hospital or health services, administration management or equivalent qualification - highly desirable
