Occupational Therapist - Nimoola Residential Rehabilitation Service

This is an Occupational Therapist Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. About the role:
Join our team at Nimoola, where you will undertake clinical responsibility for consumers in our rehabilitation facility. Your primary role will involve setting rehabilitation goals, participating in clinical reviews, and managing a small caseload of rehab consumers. You will provide expert consultation regarding rehabilitation participation and offer clinical management in a community setting.

Your expertise in rehabilitation and OT will be invaluable as you provide guidance and support to both inpatient and community teams. In collaboration with our Multidisciplinary team (MTD), you will develop personalised rehabilitation schedules that incorporate diverse activities designed to promote independence.

You will be responsible for executing intervention plans with designated consumers. These plans will include daily living and community access programs, all aimed at helping consumers achieve their care plan objectives.

About the location:
Located in Taree, you'll enjoy stunning beaches, rivers, and national parks, along with a supportive community. Affordable housing and a relaxed lifestyle offer a great work-life balance. The area also boasts excellent healthcare and educational facilities. Embrace ample outdoor activities and a welcoming atmosphere that supports both personal and professional growth.

About you:

  • You are skilled in independent assessment and decision-making, leveraging your expert knowledge to provide effective solutions.
  • You possess the ability to conduct thorough assessments and formulating strategies, which you then present to the team for further discussion.
  • You participate in morning huddles and manage the intake process, ensuring a detailed clinical review in a MDT format.
  • Your approach to risk management is collaborative, working with the team to address and mitigate potential risks effectively.
